NEA Assessment Task

We are now at the point when you are ready to complete the construction of your NEA.

I will spend some time in class with you going back through the production details required in your magazine front covers / contents pages and your accompanying website.

I will also go through a reminder of how the NEA is assessed in relation to the mark scheme.

I think it is useful to look at previous coursework in order to see how grades are awarded and what these grades ‘look like’.

The work that we look at is in relation to last year’s magazine set brief where students were asked to produce the front covers and contents pages, together with the two working pages for its accompanying website, for a new lifestyle magazine aimed at a primarily 16-25 year old middle-market, aspirational audience.

TASK

The completed NEA work of 3 candidates is shown below; Candidates are identified as A, B and C.

This is the work that was assessed by school with marks agreed by the exam board's external moderator.

For each Candidate you need to allocate a level and key word from the mark scheme.

Once you have done this, you need to place the candidates into rank order from 1 (strongest) to 3 (weakest).
